Texas Continuing Education Requirements
The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) requires most insurance licensees – including general lines life, accident & health; property & casualty; personal lines; managing general agents; and adjusters – to complete 24 credit hours of continuing education during each two‑year license cycle, with at least 3 hours devoted to ethics. Limited‑lines agents and county mutual agents need 10 hours of CE with 3 ethics hours, while funeral prearrangement agents are exempt. TDI recommends completing courses at least 30 days before your license expires to allow time for providers to report credits.
