Massachusetts Insurance CE Requirements:

Resident Producers:

Initial License Term: 60 hours of CE, including 3 hours in ethics, within the first 3-year license term.

Subsequent Terms: 45 hours of CE, including 3 hours in ethics, every 3-year license term thereafter.

Public Insurance Adjusters: 15 hours of CE every 3-year license term.

License Renewal: Due every 3 years on the licensee’s birthdate.

Course Repetition: Courses cannot be repeated for credit within the same 3-year license term.

Carryover Credits: Up to 45 CE hours may be carried over to the next 3-year license term. Excess ethics hours will be carried over as general credits.
Special Training Requirements:

Flood Insurance: Producers selling flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) training course.

Long-Term Care (LTC): Producers selling LTC insurance must complete an initial 8-hour training and a 4-hour refresher course every two years.

Annuities: Producers selling annuities must complete a one-time 4-hour annuity best interest training course.
