Minnesota Insurance CE Requirements:

Resident Producers and Adjusters: Must complete 24 hours of CE every two years, including 3 hours in ethics. At least 12 of these hours must be from courses not sponsored by, offered by, or affiliated with an insurance company or its agents.

License Renewal: Due every two years on the licensee’s birthdate.

Course Repetition: Courses cannot be repeated for credit within the same renewal period.

Carryover Credits: Minnesota does not allow carryover of excess CE credits to the next renewal period.
Special Training Requirements:

Flood Insurance: Producers selling flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) training course.

Long-Term Care (LTC): Producers selling LTC insurance must complete an initial 8-hour training and a 4-hour refresher course every two years.

Annuities: Producers selling annuities must complete a one-time 4-hour annuity best interest training course.
