    • Carryover Credits: Excess CE hours are not allowed to be carried forward to the next license term.

  • Annuity Best Interest Training:

    • Requirement: Producers must complete a one-time 4-hour course approved by the New York Department of Financial Services before selling, soliciting, or negotiating any annuity products.

  • Flood Insurance Training:

    • Requirement: Producers selling flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) training course.

  • Long-Term Care (LTC) Training:

    • Initial Training: 8-hour course before selling LTC insurance.

    • Ongoing Training: 4-hour refresher course every 2 years.

Additional Information:

  • License Renewal: CE requirements must be completed before submitting the license renewal application.

  • Course Completion Reporting: CE course completions are reported directly to the New York Department of Financial Services by the course provider.

  • Exemptions: Non-resident producers are exempt if they meet the CE requirements of their home state.
