Nevada Insurance CE Requirements:

  • Resident Producers:

    • License Term: 3 years, expiring on the first day of the month following the license issue date.

    • CE Requirement: 30 hours of CE, including 3 hours of ethics, every 3-year license term.

    • Course Repetition: Courses cannot be repeated for credit within the same license term.

    • Carryover Credits: Excess CE hours are not allowed to be carried forward to the next 3-year license term.

  • Resident Adjusters:

    • License Term: 3 years.

    • CE Requirement: 24 hours of CE, including 3 hours of ethics, every 3-year license term.

    • Course Repetition: Courses cannot be repeated for credit within the same license term.

    • Carryover Credits: Excess CE hours are not allowed to be carried forward to the next 3-year license term.

Special Training Requirements:

  • Annuity Best Interest Training:

    • Requirement: Producers licensed on or after November 15, 2024, must complete a one-time 4-hour course which includes the Best Interest standard prior to engaging in the sale of annuity products.

    • Transition Period: Producers licensed before November 15, 2024, who have completed the previous 4-hour Annuity Suitability training must complete a one-time 1-hour course covering the Best Interest standard by May 14, 2025.

  • Flood Insurance Training:

    • Requirement: Producers selling flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) training course.

  • Long-Term Care (LTC) Training:

    • Initial Training: 8-hour course before selling LTC insurance.

    • Ongoing Training: 4-hour refresher course every 24 months.

Additional Information:

  • License Renewal: CE requirements must be completed before submitting the license renewal application.

  • Course Completion Reporting: CE course completions are reported directly to the Nevada Division of Insurance by the course provider.
