Description
Embarking on a career in Mississippi’s insurance industry requires adherence to specific pre-licensing education and examination protocols established by the Mississippi Insurance Department (MID). Our tailored pre-licensing and exam preparation courses are designed to meet these requirements, ensuring you’re well-prepared for success.
Pre-Licensing Education Requirements:
Effective July 1, 2024, the 20-hour pre-licensing education requirement for the Life line of authority has been eliminated. However, for other lines of authority, Mississippi mandates completion of 20 hours of pre-licensing education per line:
-
Accident & Health – 20 hours
-
Property – 20 hours
-
Casualty – 20 hours
-
Personal Lines – 20 hours
-
Combined Lines (e.g., Life, Accident & Health or Property & Casualty) – 40 hours
These courses can be completed through classroom instruction, online modules, or self-study programs. Upon completion, candidates must pass a final exam with a minimum score of 70%, proctored by a disinterested third party, to receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is valid for two years and is required to schedule the state licensing exam.
