These 50 hours include 40 hours of general insurance principles and 10 hours of Colorado-specific training, covering topics such as Principles of Insurance, Legal Concepts, and Regulations .

Steps to Obtain Your Colorado Insurance License:

1. Complete Pre-Licensing Education: Enroll in and complete the required 50-hour course(s) for your desired line(s) of authority.

2. Pass the Licensing Exam: Schedule and pass the state licensing exam administered by Pearson VUE.

3. Submit Fingerprints: Complete the fingerprinting process as required for background checks.

4. Apply for Your License: Submit your application through the Colorado Division of Insurance’s online portal or through the National Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).
