New Hampshire Insurance CE Requirements:

  • Resident Producers:

    • License Term: 2 years, expiring on the last day of the licensee’s birth month.

    • CE Requirement: 24 hours of CE, including 3 hours of ethics, every 2-year license term.

    • Course Repetition: Courses cannot be repeated for credit within the same license term.

    • Carryover Credits: Excess CE hours are not allowed to be carried forward to the next 2-year license term.

  • Adjusters:

    • Multi-Line and Workers’ Compensation Adjusters: 24 hours of CE, including 3 hours of ethics, every 2-year license term.

    • Public Adjusters: 15 hours of CE, including 3 hours of ethics, every 2-year license term.

Special Training Requirements:

  • Annuity Best Interest Training:

    • Requirement: One-time 4-hour course approved by the New Hampshire Insurance Department before selling annuity products.

    • Transition Period: Producers who completed a 4-hour annuity suitability training course prior to January 1, 2024, must complete either a new 4-hour annuity best interest training course or an additional one-time 1-hour annuity best interest training course by August 16, 2024.

  • Flood Insurance Training:

    • Requirement: Producers selling flood insurance must complete a one-time 3-hour National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) training course within one year of receiving their license.

  • Long-Term Care (LTC) Training:

    • Initial Training: 8-hour course before selling LTC insurance.

    • Ongoing Training: 4-hour refresher course every 2 years.

Additional Information:

  • License Renewal: CE requirements must be completed at least 60 days prior to the license expiration date to maintain a valid insurance license.

  • Course Completion Reporting: CE course completions are reported directly to the New Hampshire Insurance Department by the course provider within 15 days of completion.
