Certified Financial Planner online courses

Certified Financial Planners (CFP®) must complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to maintain their certification through the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. This includes a mandatory 2-hour CFP Board-approved Ethics CE course.

WebCE is an approved CE provider (Provider Number: 2257) offering online self-study courses that meet CFP Board requirements. Courses include open-book final exams and are accessible for 12 months from the date of purchase. Ethics CE exams are closed-book and must be completed after reading all course chapters. A score of 70% is required to pass, with unlimited retakes (though the Ethics course must be restarted if failed more than three times).

CE credits must be completed by the last day of the renewal month every two years. Courses cannot be repeated within the same two-year license term, and excess hours cannot be carried forward. Completion is reported to the CFP Board twice daily, and printable PDF certificates are available immediately upon passing.
