North Carolina Insurance CEIn The Old North State of North Carolina it is required that Insurance Agents need to complete 24 hours of North Carolina Insurance Continuing Education every 2 years. The Agent Services Division in Raleigh has also required North Carolina Insurance Agents to complete 3 hours of Insurance Ethics Courses every 2 years.

Additional North Carolina Insurance Continuing Education Requirements:

  • Flood - North Carolina Insurance Agents must take a 3 hour Flood Course prior to selling Flood Insurance.
  • Any additional hours earned during a renewal period will carry over to the next renewal period. If you have additional Ethics or Flood Courses they will carry over as general CE credit.

North Carolina Insurance Continuing Education Courses are reported automatically to State Based Systems (SBS) at course completion.

North Carolina Insurance Agents can be exempt from completing Insurance Continuing Education if they are at lease 65 years of age and have continuously licensed in the same line of insurance for at least 25 years and hold a national license.
