Maryland Insurance CEAnnapolis may be the state capitol but the world renowned Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore plays a major role in medical research in Maryland. Since there license types for Maryland Insurance Agents including Life & Health agents was well as Property & Casualty Agents are required to take 24 hours of Maryland Insurance Continuing Education every 2 years. However the Maryland Insurance Administration License Division requires 12 of those hours must be in a Classroom only environment, while the other half can be Self-Study courses online. All Title Licensed Maryland Insurance Agents must complete 16 hours of CE every 2 years.

Additional Maryland Insurance Continuing Education Requirements:

  • Flood - All P&C Agents who sell flood or homeowner's insurance must complete 2 hours of Flood Training each renewal period.
  • Long Term Care - All Maryland Insurance Producers who solicit LTC Insurance must complete a one-time 8 hour Training course followed by 4 hours of ongoing training every 2 years thereafter.
  • L&H and P&C combined licenses must complete 4 hours in each L&H and P&C lines.
  • CE Courses must be approved for your insurance license type.

Maryland Insurance Continuing Education Courses are reported automatically to State Based Systems (SBS) at course completion.

Maryland Insurance Agents are exempt from Insurance CE if they have held their license less than 1 year at the time of the compliance date or Agents who are 70 years of age or older.
