Kansas Insurance CEUniversity of Kansas or Kansas State? Or are you neither? Either way the folks in Lawrence, Manhattan, Topeka, and all across the state who sell Kansas Insurance must take Insurance Continuing Education courses to renew their license. Kansas Insurance Agents who hold L&H, P&C, or Public Adjusters must take 12 hours of CE every 2 years and you must include 1 hour of Ethics CE Courses during that period. Kansas Insurance Agents who hold both Life & Health and Property & Casualty licenses must take 24 hours of CE every 2 years including 1 hour of Insurance Ethics courses. Crop only producers must complete 2 hours of approved crop CE. Pre-Need only producers must complete 2 hours of approved L&H CE credit.

Additional Kansas Insurance Continuing Education Requirements:

  • No More than 3 hours of CE can be in Insurance Agency Management
  • Kansas Insurance CE hours must cover lines in your license type. If you hold both L&H and P&C then you must have 12 hours for each license type.
  • LTCP - After July 1, 2010 each Kansas Agent who solicits Long Term Care Partnership policies must complete a one-time 4 hour LTC training course followed by 3 hours of ongoing training thereafter.
  • Flood - All P&C pr Personal Lines Kansas producers who sell Flood Insurance must complete a one-time 3 hour NFIP Flood training course
  • Kansas Insurance Continuing Education Courses cannot be repeated within the same renewal period and additional CE Credits cannot be carried over to the next renewal period.

Kansas Insurance Continuing Education Courses are reported automatically to State Based Systems (SBS) at course completion.
