Florida Insurance CEFlorida Insurance Agents in the Sunshine State are required 24 hours of CE in basic or intermediate coursework including 3 hours of Ethics. The Florida Insurance Department in Tallahassee requires Insurance CE courses to be completed by the Florida Insurance Agent every 2 years and up to 24 excess hours can be carried over to the next reporting period.

Additional Florida Insurance Continuing Education Requirements:

  • Florida License holders for less than 6 years must complete 24 hours of CE training every 2 years
  • Florida License holders for more than 6 years must complete 20 hours of CE training eveyr 2 years
  • Florida Life Agents must complete 3 hours of suitability training which can also count towards your Ethics training
  • All Florida general lines producers must take 1 hour of premium discount/hurricane mitigation CE
  • Long Term Care - All Florida Health Insurance Agents who solicit LTC insurance must complete 8 hours of initial LTC training and must complete additional 4 hours LTC training every 2 years.
  • Flood - Florida Insurance Agents who sell Flood Insurance must complete a one-time 3 hour NFIP Flood Training Course

Online Interactive courses DO NOT need to be proctored however other Self-Study final exams must be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party.
