Alabama Insurance CEWhether you wear burnt orange and navy blue for Auburn or crimson and white for whether you wear burnt orange and navy blue for Auburn or crimson and white for the Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl each year you are still required to take 24 hours of Alabama Insurance Continuing Education every 2 years by the last day of your birth month. Included in those 24 hours the Alabama Insurance Department requires Producers take 3 hours of Ethics and Service Representatives take 1.5 hours of Ethics.

Additional Alabama Insurance Continuing Education Requirements:

  • Flood - Resident producers must take 3 hours of NAIC compliant Flood Training course one time if selling Flood Insurance
  • Long Term Care - Resident producers who sell LTC must take an initial 8 hour approved course and 4 hour refresher course each renewal period thereafter.
  • Non-Resident Producers - Must take an 8 hour NAIC approved course in their resident state to meet the Alabama requirement
  • Proctoring - Final Exams for Self-Study courses must be monitored by a disinterested 3rd party

Alabama Insurance Agents are exempt from taking Alabama Insurance CE courses if you are over 60 years of age and have been continuously licensed in Alabama for at least 15 years.

Alabama Insurance Continuing Education Courses are reported automatically to State Based Systems (SBS) at course completion.
